Have you ever traveled to Asia?
I still remember my last visit! It was ages ago; just a few months after the Hong Kong handover from the British to China. Practicing Tai Chi in the park while watching military exercises happening nearby was an unforgettable experience. It was also just before the closure of the Kai Tak airport, where I was riveted by the planes passing through the high-rise buildings.
But enough about the past! I'm excited to share that I will be traveling to Borneo, Malaysia, this summer! It's a destination I've never been to before, with a unique culture, language and wildlife to explore. It's like a whole new world to me and I can't wait to experience every moment of it.
To beat the jet lag, I'll first spend a day in Kota Kinabalu before joining a G Adventures tour, exploring the Sabah region. The tour is part of the Goodall Collection and focuses on wildlife, which is right up my alley. There are a few unique experiences I'm especially excited to have:
- Visiting an orangutan rehabilitation centre
- Learning about turtle conservation programs
- Taking a G for Good Libaran Island Village Walk to learn about local village life
- Spotting the elusive proboscis monkey
Of course, there's so much more to this trip!! I will share all my amazing experiences with you when I'm back.
